Electrical Control & Management System (ECMS)

A typical plant utilizes ECMS to control and monitor the electrical power distribution system via the computer and networking technology. It interfaces with HV / LV switchgear, HV/LV MCC, HV VFD, Transformers gas turbine generators, essential generators, heat tracing system and cathodic protection system and UPS/DC systems. The objective of ECMS is to enhance the safety, operability, maintainability, and reliability of the electrical power system. ​

All the control and monitoring operations, and operator stations are located in the ECMS main control room. This main ECMS server performs data exchanges via IEDs acquired via IEC 61850.
