David Ong is the founder and CEO of Excel Marco Industrial Systems, a Control and Safety PLC systems turn-key solutions provider. He has over 25 years of professional experience and is widely recognized as an active professional in process automation safety industries. He is a CFSE (Certified Functional Safety Expert) and was a member of the technical advisory board of CFSE Governance Board. During the course of his career, he has executed many major projects in the Oil & Gas industry both onshore and offshore on Process Automation Safety & Control. Many of these projects involves major Oil companies such as Esso, Shell, Total, Mobil, Sinopec, PetroChina, KeppelFELS, Semcorp and so on. He has also helped to develop key product marketing specifications for safety PLC and SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems) in general prior to setting up his own company.

Over the years, he has maintained focused on Safety PLC related application and had been conducting training on Functional Safety Standards and Practices. Earlier in his career, he was an instructor for several major brands of PLC and automation equipment including Allen-Bradley and Triconex. In recent years, he has been actively promoting functional safety standards and best practices in the offshore and marine industry, while trying to expand his company globally.
